Hakone sightseeing

For our Hakone sightseeing trip, we got the ¥3,900 Hakone Freepass which allowed us unlimited rides on 7 types of transportation in the Hakone area for 2 days. Even if we used the pass for just a day, it was still worth it.

We started the trip with a train ride from the Odawara Station (after checking out Odawara Castle) to the Hakone-Yumoto Station.

From the Hakone-Yumoto Station, we took the bus to Motohakone-ko (Motohakone Port), where we would be boarding the boat for the Lake Ashi cruise.

It's a 20-30-minute cruise from Motohakone-ko to Togendai.

We then took the Hakone Ropeway to Souzan.

After getting off the Hakone Ropeway in Souzan, we took the Hakone Tozan Cable Car to Gora.

From the Gora Station, we rode a bus to the Gotemba Premium Outlets, for some retail therapy. :D

Getting back home, we hopped on a bus from Gotemba to Gora, then took a straight train from there to Hakone-Yumoto. And then another train from Hakone-Yumoto to Odawara. :) Next time we plan to stay in Hakone overnight, and visit an onsen. One of the more famous ones is Yunessun, which has flavored hot spring pools (sake, green tea, coffee, etc.) and allows swimsuits. :) They also have a section for those who prefer to enjoy the onsen the traditional way (naked).
